CC2 Challenge week #7

Hello crafty peeps!  Welcome to week 7 of the ever-so-fabulous Linda's Compendium of Curiosities Volume II challenge!  (that's a mouth-full, huh?).  This week's challenge is called Brushless Watercolor, and you can check out the directions in Tim's book on page 49.  In addition to the fun of creating this technique, Daisy at eclectic Paperie is offering a $25 gift certificate to one lucky participant this week!

To make this tag, I inked up one of Dyan Reaveley's wonderful stamps with Peeled Paint Distress Stain, then misted it with water.  I love how it created a hint of yellow.  I then misted it with Peeled Paint re-inker mixed with water.  The honeycomb stamp is Tim's, and I inked it with Spiced Marmalade and misted it with water.  I believe the bee is Vintaj, which I've had forever and am happy to finally find a good home.  The house was cut out using Tim's Artful Dwellings die, and the edges were inked with Vintage Photo.

I just got back into town so I haven't had time to download pics from Tim's classes, which were SO MUCH FUN!!  Stay tuned for that in my next post!  Thanks for stopping by :)

  1. This is so warm and happy and gorgeous, Julie! I love the composition, and the brushless watercolor technique looks fantastic! Great little bee embellishment, too.

I'm looking forward to seeing your photos! Tim's classes are the BEST!

  2. I love this! It looks like printed paper and not like it was hand stamped. Gorgeous.

  3. What a happy little tag! I just love the bee charm on the artful dwelling die cut stamped with honey comb. And the Dyan Reaveley stamped background is oh so lovely. I've just joined the Dylusions band wagon and now must get some stamps to go with them it seems :) Thanks so much for the follow...I'm following back and can't wait to see what grungy goodness you come up with next!
