CC2 Challenge week #7

Hello crafty peeps!  Welcome to week 7 of the ever-so-fabulous Linda's Compendium of Curiosities Volume II challenge!  (that's a mouth-full, huh?).  This week's challenge is called Brushless Watercolor, and you can check out the directions in Tim's book on page 49.  In addition to the fun of creating this technique, Daisy at eclectic Paperie is offering a $25 gift certificate to one lucky participant this week!

To make this tag, I inked up one of Dyan Reaveley's wonderful stamps with Peeled Paint Distress Stain, then misted it with water.  I love how it created a hint of yellow.  I then misted it with Peeled Paint re-inker mixed with water.  The honeycomb stamp is Tim's, and I inked it with Spiced Marmalade and misted it with water.  I believe the bee is Vintaj, which I've had forever and am happy to finally find a good home.  The house was cut out using Tim's Artful Dwellings die, and the edges were inked with Vintage Photo.

I just got back into town so I haven't had time to download pics from Tim's classes, which were SO MUCH FUN!!  Stay tuned for that in my next post!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Studio L3
is to create something using Tim's technique, Tissue
Wrap Collage.  You can find out how to do it yourself on page 38 of his book, Compendium of Curiosities Volume II.  And to make this challenge all the sweeter, The Funkie Junkie Boutique is offering a $25 gift certificate to this week's winner!

I was fortunate enough to have attended three of Tim's classes this past weekend at AE!  It was such an amazing time!!  I'll share pics later next week, as I am still out of town.

12 Tags of 2012 - May

Howdy all!  Tim has posted his 12 Tags of 2012 for May and it was a lot of fun to make!  As you can tell from my other posts, I'm going through a 'sewing' phase, so this tag was just perfect.  Since I have the smaller set of sewing stamps, I used sewing pattern tissue instead of the stamped tissue paper.  I sanded the spool by hand, which wasn't as labor intensive as I thought it was going to be.  I was thrilled that I had the same paper to put in the cash key, and I used a cash key sticker to trace around since I didn't have the oval paper punch that Tim used.

I used flowers I had from a yard sale shadowbox and topped them with Glossy Accents (note to self:  buy Melting Pot).  Not even close to the same results as UTEE, but I'm still happy with them.  I used the new Spring Distress Ink pads to color them a bit.

I'm headed to Absolutely Everything in Topsfield, MA this weekend to take some Tim classes, and I am SO EXCITED!!

Thank you for your nice comments, I really appreciate them!  See you on the other side!

CC2 Challenge week #5

Welcome to week 5 fellow crafters!  The ever-so-fabulous Linda has posted this week's challenge:  Shattered Stains.  You can find the directions on how to create this fun technique on page 48 of Tim's Compendium of Curiosities Volume II.  And to add to the fun, Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring this week's challenge!

I've been on a kick lately with the sewing die, I can't seem to get enough of it.  I embossed some KraftCore paper with Tim's sewing embossing folder, then sanded it down a bit.  I used Claudine Hellmuth's Multi Matte Medium to attach my objects.  The sewing needles were in my stash, the button is from Prima, and for the life of me I can't remember where I got those cute tiny spools!  The hanger and crinkle ribbon are also Tim's.  I dyed the ribbon with Antique Linen Distress Stain (and dyed extra for his May tag) and tied some fibers around the waist.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful, crafty week!
