Welcome to week 5 fellow crafters! The ever-so-fabulous Linda has posted this week's challenge: Shattered Stains. You can find the directions on how to create this fun technique on page 48 of Tim's Compendium of Curiosities Volume II. And to add to the fun, Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring this week's challenge!
I've been on a kick lately with the sewing die, I can't seem to get enough of it. I embossed some KraftCore paper with Tim's sewing embossing folder, then sanded it down a bit. I used Claudine Hellmuth's Multi Matte Medium to attach my objects. The sewing needles were in my stash, the button is from Prima, and for the life of me I can't remember where I got those cute tiny spools! The hanger and crinkle ribbon are also Tim's. I dyed the ribbon with Antique Linen Distress Stain (and dyed extra for his May tag) and tied some fibers around the waist.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful, crafty week!

This is lovely - looks like you had a lot of fun creating this!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out fabulously, Julie! I love the shattered stains on the dress form, and your color choices are sensational! The green background is PERFECT with the muted tones of the embellishments. Really awesome work!
